Jay's surgery went well this morning! He seems to be feeling ok most of the time, except when I need to change a diaper. He has eaten and is playing with his toys pretty much as usual, just fussing when he wants to move his legs and can't easily because of the heaviness of the casts and knee immobilizers.
Dr. gave him a medicine for pain and a med to keep his muscles more relaxed for the first 3 days. But he is able to return to his normal activities immediately. He is to wear the knee immobilizers for the first 24 hours, and then only at night for 2 months, to prevent him from curling up to sleep, which would not be helpful for his knees.
