August 27
Jay is getting a new big boy bed!! I've added rails and working on stain and finish now. And a new quilt is in the mail😊
August 20
First time sitting in a regular kid stool like the twins use at the table, and he totally rocked it!! Guess it's time to buy another one for him 😊
August 18
First day of preschool yesterday! I don't think he remembered what it meant to go to school, but he was excited to get there this morning!
August 12
Done with 8 lessons and on our way home. He's watching traffic go past us and laughing and laughing!!
August 10
Another 4 days of lessons before preschool starts next week. JJ was SO pumped to see JR!! Grinning and squealing and signing "I love"...
July 28
This is what our days consist of lately. Exploring a few new toys that we found at a consignment shop and the last picture shows him pushing himself up with his hands! 😊 Tomorrow we go to Nashville to the Assistive Technology Center to see if we can borrow some switches and other equipment so he can learn the beginning skills necessary to use an augmentative communication device. He is using his "I don't like it" button that his Speech/Communication eval recommended every day and it is cutting down on his fussing and crying when he doesn't like something.
July 21
Last 2 lessons this morning, then the loooong drive home! He fell asleep playing with both feet up in his seat 😊
July 20
Jay's having another group of lessons in Asheville. Getting to know his left leg and foot more and getting a little more stability in sitting for a tiny bit
July 11
We've been to appointments in Nashville and Bowling Green the last 2 days. One of them was to make adjustments to his chair so that he fits in it comfortably in his brace and to order our own bolster chair like the one we're renting. Then yesterday he had his yearly ophthalmology appt.
July 8
We're spending evenings at the pool this week while the twins have swim lessons. Jay has initiated pushing his toy's button with his left arm/elbow!!
July 7
Working hard on learning to push and hold himself up using his arms. We just received these bamboo braces to help him learn to lock his elbows when pushing through his arms. He's not really a fan of the braces or the work!
June 29
I He's doing pretty good with all this upright time! He's played with 2 toys that he wouldn't touch before when he only played lying down! Surprised me! Pics are of him mostly supporting his own weight in side-sitting by propping on his elbow. And he pushed himself up to sit like that several times with just a little help.
